You rank number one for your client. But the AI summary above it already answers the question, so nobody clicks. Do you still put that position in the report? Technically it is a top result.
At Gradient that argument does not interest us much. We want to be organically visible where the decision actually gets made, and to know what that does to the pipeline. Feel that difference? Then read on.
Gradient helps B2B companies achieve predictable, designed growth instead of loose campaigns and short-term tactics. We bring marketing, sales and service together in one integrated Growth System, with strategy at the centre and performance, content, RevOps and media aligned to each other, often powered by HubSpot. A senior-led team works with an AI-driven operating system and proven Growth Motions to build durable pipeline and revenue. At Gradient, Growth Architects design growth systematically instead of leaving it to chance.
As a Growth Specialist SEO you carry full responsibility for SEO at one or more B2B clients: from keyword and competitor research through to technical optimisation, content direction and building authority, always inside that client's Growth System. You join a strong, integrated team: three SEO colleagues alongside content, performance, analytics and strategy. Full-time, based in Amsterdam, hybrid by design.
SEO is not a channel any more in 2026. It is building brand preference in every search moment, and those moments happen in Google, in AI answers and on the platforms where B2B buyers compare and build trust. Classic SEO remains the foundation. GEO is largely the same discipline with one extra layer: citability, entities, structured data and measurability. And authority stopped being a matter of links alone a long time ago. So we are looking for someone who has mastered the craft and dares to take on that new layer. Not someone waiting for the market to settle on what GEO actually means.
What you are going to do
- You turn analysis into a roadmap with real priorities, weighed on impact, effort and dependencies. You guard scope and planning, so the work does not dissolve into a stream of separate requests
- You guard topical focus and build plans around B2B buying journeys and buying committees. You write briefs the content team can produce straight away, and you deliberately decide when new content is not the answer
- You apply GEO principles in client plans and steer on answerability, entity consistency and being worth citing. You measure AI traffic and AI mentions, and you explain them without hype
- You deliver angles and assets that let PR partners build brand and authority off-site, and you direct those partners on substance. This is an area the team still wants to grow into, so there is room here to take it
- You report from GSC, GA4, Looker Studio, Semrush and Screaming Frog. The bar is not sharing numbers but interpreting them: hypothesis, explanation, decision, next step
- You build client relationships and explain choices to marketers and stakeholders alike. You support in calls first, and become the point of contact for parts of accounts after that
- You spot where widening the scope makes sense, towards GEO, Digital PR or better integration with performance. You think along on scope based on impact, not on upsell
- You work AI-native on the Gradient Operating System and actively share what works, so a good approach becomes scalable for the whole team
You report to your Team Lead and are coached in the craft by seasoned SEO specialists.
Search is your home turf
Concretely, we expect you to be at home in the following:
- The technical foundation. Crawl, index, canonicals, status codes, structured data and internal linking, solid enough to carry an audit. You do not have to debug it, you have to read it and direct it.
- Topical authority as a design question, not a content calendar. You know when improving an existing page beats writing a new one, and you dare to advise that even when it means less work for us.
- Spotting cannibalisation before it happens. You see when an extra page is mainly going to weaken your own page, instead of finding it in the data three quarters later.
- The GEO layer. Citability, entities, structured data, and the honesty to say what you can and cannot measure. No hype, no absolute claims.
- Authority off your own site. Through PR partners you direct on substance and judge on output. Links are an outcome of that, not the objective.
- Migrations and redirects. Including a feel for where they go wrong. You do not learn that from a checklist, you learn it by sitting in the middle of one.
- Commercial language. You explain an SEO decision in pipeline and brand preference rather than positions, and you hold that explanation up in front of a stakeholder who only looks at the ranking.
What you bring
- At least 4 years hands-on SEO, of which at least 2 at an agency. Agency experience is a hard requirement: you know what it takes to carry several clients at once and to switch between contexts
- Demonstrable B2B experience, or convincing evidence that you can make that step on your own. Long sales cycles, buying committees, and content that does not convert directly but does carry weight in a decision
- At least one migration you have been through up close
- You read data and change your work because of it
- Dutch and English at professional level. Both, because our client base is partly Dutch-speaking and partly international
Also important
- GEO and AI search. Either you are already good at it, or you are willing to dig in hard enough to get there fast
- Experience directing link-building or PR partners
- You have set up a process or a way of working somewhere before, rather than only working inside one someone else built
What we offer
- A salary between €3,250 and €4,500 gross per month depending on your level, with profit sharing on top
- Clients with real room to win. Most of the competition is running the same tired playbook, while we work with systems that accelerate your growth
- A senior-led firm. You work with Gradiators who genuinely master the craft, not alongside a layer of juniors working from a template
- Five years running the number one full-service B2B agency in the Emerce100, over 250 Growth Systems built and more than €1.5 billion in pipeline for clients. You are not walking into an experiment
- Office in Amsterdam, hybrid by design. Fully remote is negotiable under the right conditions
- Pension, 25 holidays, learning budget, travel allowance, MacBook Pro, a fully equipped home workspace and legendary company trips (sun or snow)
This role is probably not for you if
- You see SEO as chasing positions. We steer on pipeline and brand preference, and rankings are a steering metric at most
- You want a brief handed to you. You write the brief
- You would rather only execute. This role asks you to make choices, prioritise, and defend those choices in front of a client
- You wave AI search away as hype, or believe in it so hard that you let the foundation slide
- You would rather sit on one client. You carry several accounts at once
We are looking for someone who sets the search direction on his or her clients and takes responsibility for it.
