You build a nurture flow. It goes live. And after that nobody ever asks again whether it produced a deal.
At Gradient that is the first question. Automation here is not a construction project but a revenue system, and it gets judged on what it does further down the pipeline. Feel that difference? Then read on.
Gradient builds Growth Systems. We help B2B companies move away from loose campaigns and build something predictable instead: strategy, performance, content, RevOps and media as one whole, with HubSpot as the beating heart. Growth is not an accident here, it is a design.
This role sits in the middle of that system. Where most disciplines work on the outside, you build the layer underneath: the flows, triggers and data structure that turn marketing, sales and service into one whole inside HubSpot. As a HubSpot Diamond Partner and part of label34.group, we do that for leading international B2B organisations in SaaS, Cloud & IT, Professional Services and Logistics.
In B2B a buying decision takes months and quickly involves five to ten people. Automation is the only thing that bridges those months without someone chasing every step by hand. It is also the layer where money disappears most quietly, because a flow nobody measures simply keeps running for years. So we are looking for someone who treats HubSpot as a craft rather than a tool. Not someone who adds workflows, but someone who guards the architecture.
What you are going to do
- You design and build lead nurturing flows and lifecycle journeys, from the first trigger through to the handover to sales, and you make sure the architecture holds when the client changes something
- You set up workflows, lists, properties and lifecycle stages in HubSpot, and you guard the structure that decides whether the rest works
- You automate processes between marketing, sales and service, so a lead does not get stranded between two teams
- You treat data quality as a precondition, not an afterthought. Without clean data every flow is a gamble, and you are the one who says that out loud to a client
- You measure what automation delivers in pipeline rather than in open rates, and you explain that to a client without hiding behind a dashboard
- You advise on what should not be automated. Every extra workflow is also maintenance and another place to go wrong
- You work AI-native on the Gradient Operating System and judge where AI genuinely speeds up the work and where it is mostly a demo
- You actively share what works and document new ways of working, so a good approach becomes scalable for the whole team
You report to your Team Lead and are coached in the craft by seasoned automation specialists.
HubSpot is your home turf
This is a mid-level role, so we expect you to know your way around the following:
- The architecture under a flow. Not which button sits where, but why a journey looks the way it does and what breaks when someone changes something halfway through.
- Lifecycle stages as an agreement, not a dropdown. When someone is an MQL and when they are not is a commercial agreement between marketing and sales. You put that agreement into the system, and you challenge it when it does not hold.
- Data quality as the foundation. Properties, duplicate records, inconsistent input. The least glamorous part of the craft, and the part most automation runs aground on.
- The handover to sales. Where a lead moves from a system to a human is usually where it goes wrong. You design that handover instead of hoping for it.
- Measuring what automation delivers. Not open rates and clicks, but what happens further down the pipeline. And the honesty to say what you cannot measure.
- Cleaning up as craft. A portal silting up with hundreds of half-active workflows is not a sign of productivity. You dare to switch things off.
- AI in the operation. Where AI genuinely speeds up the work, and where it is mostly a demo that looks good.
What you bring
- At least 3 years hands-on marketing automation, of which at least 2 in HubSpot with your own responsibility for the setup
- Experience in B2B and with long, complex sales cycles. You understand why a B2B journey is a different animal from an e-commerce flow
- You have set up or thoroughly cleaned a portal yourself, not only added workflows to something someone else built
- Precision. In automation a wrong tick box is not a cosmetic slip, it is the wrong email to four thousand people
- Analytical ability. You back a decision with data rather than an assumption, and you can explain that decision in commercial terms
- You can explain something complicated simply to a client, and you take feedback without getting defensive
- Dutch and English at professional level. Both, because our client base is partly Dutch-speaking and partly international
Also important
- Agency experience. You know what it takes to carry several clients at once and to switch between contexts
- HubSpot certifications, or demonstrable depth in Operations Hub, custom objects or data sync
- Experience with a second CRM or automation platform. Anyone who knows two sees through the third faster
- AI curiosity. You want to know how AI makes automation smarter, not only that it can
- Something Fresh-Sour in you. You stay critical in order to make things better, including towards a client who wants it another way
What we offer
- A salary between €3,250 and €4,500 gross per month depending on what you bring, with profit sharing on top
- Working inside a HubSpot Diamond Partner environment, at the heart of growth for B2B A-brands, where you see directly what your work does
- Clients with real room to win. Most of the competition is running the same tired playbook, while we work with systems that accelerate your growth
- A senior-led firm. You work with Gradiators who genuinely master the craft, not alongside a layer of juniors working from a template
- Five years running the number one full-service B2B agency in the Emerce100, over 250 Growth Systems built and more than €1.5 billion in pipeline for clients. You are not walking into an experiment
- Office in Amsterdam, hybrid by design. Fully remote is negotiable under the right conditions
- Pension, 25 holidays, learning budget, travel allowance, MacBook Pro, a fully equipped home workspace and legendary company trips (sun or snow)
This role is probably not for you if
- You build what is asked without asking why. Here the work starts at that why
- You measure success in the number of workflows running rather than in what they produce
- You find data work boring. A large part of good automation is cleaning up, and skipping that means building on sand
- You want someone else to design the architecture for you. You design it
- You would rather sit on one client and one portal. You carry several accounts at once
We are looking for someone who sets the automation direction on his or her clients and takes responsibility for it.
